Where is this place?
Umuezealaorioha is a village in Isu Ancient Kingdom of Imo State, Nigeria. This ancient community laid the first foundation of their native/community hall over 35 years ago and most of their kinsmen that started this building have passed on and were not able to see this building serve their community. Till date the hall has not been completed because of inadequate funding to achieve this all-important common meeting place for the people. As of today, the community has raised over $600.
Why Help?
The purpose of this community center or gathering place if you will is for it to serve as a venue for meetings for women, men and for youths’ activities. The hall is also meant to accommodate the community generator that will be used as a power source to aid in pumping portable water from a borehole for the people to use in drinking, washing clothes, taking baths and cooking among other things.
Who can donate?
The current situation of the hall calls for support from anyone who is touched and really wants to assist this community rebuild. After several appeal to the government for assistance, no assistance has been provided. This building which has remained un-roofed for over two decades is on the verge of collapse. Its very foundation is weak, and we at TAF are more concerned of the safety of lives which cannot be guaranteed for those who make use of the facility as it is.
It is against this backdrop that TAF has decided to save this horrific situation by soliciting for your support and donations to assist this community achieve this age long desire.
